Chul Gi E Dan - An 18 stage pattern
Chul Gi E Dan from the Joon Be position:
Joon be ------- Feet apart shoulder width, knives flat over each other right over left.

Both hands open to soo do, flip over thumbs up inside and pull
slowly back to waist, at the same time, the left foot crosses over
the right foot, and the knees bend slightly, arch backwards
slightly; this is chamber. Now, arch forward while striking with
both hands in fingers-forward palm down soo do, immediately
followed by return to chest area in fists level with shoulders,
elbows out, with look to right.

Right leg comes from behind into horsestance, double hand fist
block to right

Step left over right into X stance, right backfist (left remains
under elbow) from left shoulder through right knee area kihap when
passing knee but continue smoothly through in a circular motion into
horse stance with right leg coming from behind; that back fist
continues travel up right and 360 around the front of the body into
right low block, looking right, kihap at block time. As right hand
circles, left hand is left stationary at solar plexus level at about
mid move

Pull left leg in to left over right x stance, Both hands open to
soo do, flip over thumbs up inside and pull slowly back to waist,

Now, arch forward while striking with both hands in fingers-forward
soo do palm down, immediately followed by return to chest area in
fists level with shoulders, elbows out, with look to left.

Step out left into horse, leftward double hand fist block

Step right over left into x stance, left hand to right shoulder,
crosses chest circular block past left knee (kihap as passes knee) as
hand comes back up, step left out into horse stance, left hand
continues into left low block, right hand at solar plexus in fist as
assist.

Look straight ahead, open right fist into leftward palm block
position, and push slightly into left shoulder as you pull left
fist from low block position up to belt level - then left punch
past palm block to front - palm block remains stationary.

Look right, return left hand to left waist chamber, right hand
knife hand check, then left fist over solar plexus + right fist at
waist chamber

Left leg steps over right into x stance facing right 90, right arm
from left shoulder, makes circle towards ground to right, right
backfist (left support remains under elbow from knee area onward)
through knee area kihap when passing knee but continue smoothly
through in a circular motion into horse stance with right leg coming
from behind; that back fist continues travel up left and 360 around
down right the front of the body into right low block, looking right,
kihap at block time.As right hand circles, left hand remains
stationary at solar plexus level

position, and push slightly into right shoulder as you pull right
fist from low block position up to belt level - then right punch
past palm block to front - palm block remains stationary.

Look left, return right hand to right waist chamber, left hand
knife hand check, return right over left on left chamber.

Step right foot over left, left hand circles back behind body over
head as you step into horse stance, left arae maki, right bakkat
maki for kawi maki, then reverse kawi maki, then left uppercut with
right hand fist under left elbow

Open left hand palm in, pull in with tension till back of hand even
with right fist, then pull very fast to waist Right hand circles back
behind you, a little up, not quite flat but not a high circle, bring
it back in front at about 45 degrees up - when arm is perpendicular
to body, begin to bend elbow, punch into left hand at waist which is
opened to palm up; bring hands together up at 45 degrees turn fist
from "knuckles into palm" to "hammer into palm" as arms transit the
45 degree angle - arms finish right of head and outward. Both hands
now pull down to right waist.

Lift right foot about 12 inches off ground (sumo lift) when you
step down from sumo lift, turn right shoulder towards left knee;
right elbow strike (like pyung an sam dan) with kihap, stand back
up and right knifehand check, looking right; right check returns to
waist, left punch across body.

Step left foot over right; right hand circles back behind body over
head as you step into horse stance, right arae maki, left bakkat
maki for kawi maki, then reverse kawi maki, then right uppercut
with left hand fist under right elbow

Open right hand palm in, pull in with tension till back of hand
even with left fist, then pull very fast to waist. Left hand circles
back behind you, a little up, not quite flat but not a high circle,
